Silverpoint on board, 24 x 30"

Bycatch came from somewhere deep inside my brain.I wanted to convey the work of fishermen, the problem of bycatch (fishing for one species but accidentally catching another, often to that species detriment). I enjoyed drawing the fish and the gulls. I drew the figures without models due to the complexity of poses and unavailability of the types I needed. Also, I gave the standing woman a cigarette because somehow, it changes everything.
