Colored Pencil on Paper, 18" x 30"

In this drawing I explored the nature of long-term friendship and how to make multiple figures relate. I used photos of my friends and I for the likenesses and drew the rest from my imagination. I used photo references to ensure I depicted the red-winged blackbird and tiger lily accurately. I had a lot of fun inventing the clothing and drawing the many textures. Unlike in the egg tempera painting of this subject, I drew the lace first and had to fill in backgroun in the holes--a somewhat tedious process.
