Wetlands

In this painting I revisted the childhood domain in the wetlands surrounding a nearby pond. It was a lush forest filled with jacks-in-the-pulpit and skunk cabbage that poked through the carpet of oak leaves each spring. We spent many an afternoon exploring the flora and fauna there--exasperating our parents as we came home with sneakers, socks and pants streaked with the black mud that lay beneath.
