Wetlands
Silverpoint, 18 x 24
$1,750

In this drawing I revisted the domain of my childhood--the wetlands surrounding a nearby pond. It was a lush forest filled with jacks-in-the-pulpit and skunk cabbage that poked through the carpet of oak leaves each spring. We spent many an afternoon exploring the flora and fauna there--exasperating our parents as we came home with sneakers, socks and pants streaked with the black mud that lay beneath. The red-haired woman in the foreground was drawn from a model who posed on my dining room table. The children and plant life were drawn from my memory, using photographic references to ensure I depicted the plants accurately. This was my first large silverpoint drawing. I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed composing and drawing it.
