I enjoyed working on this portrait of my son, Thomas. He appears as a child in many of my oil paintings and drawings but I had not included him as a young adult--mostly because he wasn't available. For this composition, I snapped a series of photos while he was home on spring break and then spent the fall and winter working on this drawing and then the painting.
